Otherwise it's going to suck having to manually update over 100 devices with a new SMTP gateway. I'm hoping that someone out there may be familiar enough with this issue to have found a workaround for automating the outbound email configuration of newer HP printers, or may be able to point out a feature of HP Web Jetadmin that addresses my problem that I may have overlooked. It appears that the Digital Send > Email Server > Outgoing Email Server (found on most newer HP printers) settings are not compatible with the SMTP Gateway configuration setting in HP-WJA, and the 10.4 SR1 update doesn't expand the feature set to include supporting devices that use the new digital sending configuration method. information about HP Web Jetadmin security plug-ins, see Questions and Answers later in this paper.) The default disk erase mode is Non-Secure Fast Erase. The system is now capable of discovering and managing SNMPv3 devices. I need to centralize the SMTP gateway configuration settings for our HP fleet - however a majority of our HP printers (hodgepodge of various print engines) do not support this configuration template setting. To enable HP Web Jetadmin to discover and manage devices using SNMPv3, go to Tools > Options > Device Management > Device Discovery, enable Discover SNMPv3 devices, and click Apply. I consider myself relatively competent, but have ran into an issue with configuration templates that I do not know whether or not is achievable. I've been experimenting with the software for a few weeks.
